We're pleased to be moving into an exciting new phase of our development on The Red Sea Project with the award of our first hotel build contracts to Saudi company AlBawani and Swiss firm Blumer Lehmann.
We awarded a contract to daa International as operator of The Red Sea Project’s unique and iconic airport. daa International will provide airfield and terminal operations, aviation services, facilities management and commercial activities, as well as corporate and financial services.
We awarded contracts to Saudi firms Red Sea International and Facilities Management Company (FMCO) to provide all maintenance, security, catering, administrative and laundry services at The Red Sea Project’s Construction Village.
We awarded a contract to global engineering firm Mott MacDonald to provide consultancy services to determine the optimal sustainable vehicle and fleet configuration at the destination.
We awarded one of our largest value contracts to date to Saudi firm AlKifah Contracting Company for the engineering, procurement and construction of an additional 40 apartment buildings at The Sea Project’s Coastal Village community.
We announced that we will create the world’s largest battery storage facility to enable the entire site at The Red Sea to be powered by renewable energy 24 hours a day.
To date The Red Sea Development Company has awarded more than 500 contracts, worth SAR 7.5 billion, to companies in 24 countries. Over 70% of this value has been awarded to Saudi firms, highlighting our commitment to the KSA economy.
Watch as we take delivery of the first
prefabricated units for our 14,000-person Coastal Village. Using Off-Site Manufacturing to minimize
the environmental impact of construction, the units were built in a new factory in Rabigh.
With our Saudi partner Binyah, we recently
completed the first kilometre of an 80km inland road network at The Red Sea Project site. The road
has passed safety tests and is now fully accessible
We awarded our biggest contract to date to an
all-Saudi joint
venture between Nesma & Partners and Almabani for airside infrastructure works
for the destination’s international airport, set to open in 2022.
The contract was awarded to support the creation of a sustainable gateway which will open up Saudi
Arabia to the world.

foundation work is being carried out at our Coastal Village Management Office by Al Majal Al Arabi
Group. Once completed later in 2020, the offices will accommodate up to 500 staff.
